Abigail Haley, Co-founder of Avant-Art, stands at the forefront of Houston's contemporary art scene. Armed with a Bachelor's degree in Art History from Texas Christian University and enriched by classes at the Sotheby's Institute of Art in New York, Haley blends a passion for art with industry expertise.
Her journey began in fine art and collectibles insurance underwriting at Tokio Marine America and continued at the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth. Haley's meticulous eye and deep art appreciation flourished, setting the stage for her role at a prominent Houston gallery. There, she honed skills in art collecting, exhibition management, and promotion.
As a key figure in Houston's art landscape, Haley co-founded Christopher Martin Gallery, a premier destination for contemporary art. Today, as co-owner of Avant-Art Gallery, her commitment is unwavering — to showcase groundbreaking contemporary art, nurture inclusivity, and elevate Houston's vibrant arts community. Ally Ondarza's journey in the art world commenced as an intern during high school at a prominent contemporary gallery in Houston. Upon graduating from St. Edwards University in Austin with a degree in Communications, Ondarza seamlessly transitioned into the art sphere, swiftly ascending to the role of associate upon her return to the gallery.
Recognized for her exceptional skills and unwavering passion, Ondarza assumed the position of Director at Christopher Martin Gallery, playing a pivotal role in the establishment of their Houston outpost. Her career trajectory has been marked by rapid success, marked by strong industry connections and accolades for her dedication.
As Co-Owner of Avant-Art, Ondarza is resolute in her dedication to showcasing innovative, thought-provoking contemporary art.
